Bearclaw Sitka and Turquoise

October 4, 2017

A bearclaw sitka spruce on figured walnut Xaver Grand Concert guitar with a turquoise rosary inlayed in the fingerboard.
An example of how you can customize your Xaver guitar with inlay.

This custom Xaver guitar is based on my standard Grand Concert model. I was asked if I could do an inlay on a guitar of an image of a special turquoise rosary. After I received a picture of the rosary, I prepared a mockup of how the inlay would look once completed, and the design was approved. The beads of the rosary were to be turquoise, but not just any turquoise - they were to be from turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona, which closed in 2012. After some searching I was able to find enough Sleeping Beauty turquoise to proceed with the inlay. I first built a sample inlay of the rosary, using a small amount of the turquoise and mother-of-pearl for the joining beads. The sample met with the customer's approval and I proceeded to complete the inlay and the rest of the guitar.

The guitar has bearclaw sitka spruce for the soundboard and figured walnut for the sides and back. And, no, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you; it is also a left handed guitar. You can find out more about this guitar, with more pictures and video here.

If you have an idea for custom inlay on your Xaver guitar, give me a shout or send me a picture of what you would like inlayed. Custom guitars do take extra time to build - usually 6 to 12 months. But the result is a very special guitar you can enjoy for a lifetime.

In the White

September 2, 2016

View of an Xaver grand concert guitar in the white, that is before the finish is applied.
A custom Xaver Grand Concert just before the finish is applied.

In luthiery as with all disciplines we have jargon - fancy words for ordinary stuff. One of these fancy words is "in the white". This phrase refers to a guitar that has been built but has not yet had the finish applied. Presumably the phrase came about due to the very light (almost white) colour of many woods before finish is applied. This particular guitar has a sitka spruce top on walnut sides and back. And, as you can see, the sitka top looks white. Note as well that the bridge is missing, as the bridge is only installed after the finish is applied. So, next time you hear a guitar-builder talking about a guitar that is "in the white", don't worry, the guitar isn't sick. It is just waiting its turn in the spray booth.

Grand Concert Nearing Completion

July 27, 2016

View of inside of grand concert guitar before back is installed.
This custom Xaver Grand Concert is about to have its back installed, so this is the last opportunity to have a peak inside.

I love how the daylight from a nearby window casts soft shadows on my work area. This is the image that greeted me a few mornings ago - my current project - a custom ordered Grand Concert guitar. As you can see, the back is yet to be installed. This view inside the guitar, especially the underside of the soundboard, is one that will be permanently hidden once the back goes on. (You can look at the underside of any soundboard by placing a mirror inside the guitar.) The last thing I do before I close up any Xaver guitar is sign and date the guitar on the underside of the soundboard. Although this guitar is already sold, I will be posting a full set of images of it once it is completed later this fall. It will feature custom inlay on the fingerboard, and the guitar is a "lefty". So, stay tuned.

Summer Schedule for Xaver Guitars

June 25th, 2014

An Xaver maple/sitka dreadnought, lying in the glow of soft morning light, awaiting the back to be installed.

If checking out some Xaver guitars is part of your summer plans, here's where you'll find us over the next few months:

Ottawa Guitar Show - the big luthier event of the year for Eastern Ontario. The show is double the size from last year, which is why it has moved locations to the Glebe Community Centre. Join us Sunday, June 29, from 10am to 5pm, at 175 3rd Ave in Ottawa. (There's also going to be balloting for the guitars you like the most. Any support you can throw my way would be most appreciated.) Free admission.

Cumberland Farmers' Market - As in previous years, we'll be at the Market most Saturday mornings until mid October. There are some dates, however, that we will not be there, just in case you were planning a visit to the Market:

We will not be at the Cumberland Farmers' Market on July 5th, 12th, 19th, and August 2nd.

On all other Saturdays, up to and including October 8th, we'll be at our familiar spot at the Market with a selection of my guitars for you to check out.

Wendover Country Music Festival - The reason we won't be at the Market on Saturday, July 19th, is that we'll be down the road a bit, at the Wendover Country Music Festival. So, if you plan to attend the festival, drop by our table in the Community Hall. The festival runs Friday through Sunday, July 18-20, at Wendover, Ontario, about 30 minutes east of Orleans on Highway 174.

Have a wonderful summer everyone.

Sunday, May 25th, from 10am to 4pm, at 1505 Carling Avenue

Two great opportunities coming up to check out guitars and guitar gear, right here in the nation's capital. First up on Sunday, May 25th, from 10am to 4pm, at 1505 Carling Avenue, this show will include not just guitars (acoustic, electric, handmade, and production guitars), but also guitar gear, including amps, pedals, etc.

Then five weeks later, on Sunday, June 29th, exclusively handbuilt guitars takes over at the Glebe Community Centre (175 Third Ave). Xaver Guitars will be at both shows with a selection of my guitars for you to check out. Mark these events on your calendar and support your local guitar industry.

Cumberland Christmas Market Saturday

December 7th, 2013

The annual Cumberland Farmers Christmas Market will be held Saturday, December 7th, at the Rec Complex (1115 Dunning Road in Cumberland, just 5 minutes east of Orleans on Highway 174). Unlike many other Christmas markets that offer imported wares, all the vendors at this market are local (within 100 km of Ottawa). And so, by supporting this market, you are supporting your region and local economy. But, the best reason to visit this market is that the crafts and produce on sale are incredible! So, for beautiful one-of-a-kind Christmas gift ideas, visit us and the Cumberland Christmas Market from 9am to 4pm, Saturday, Dec. 7th. See you there.

1st Annual Kanata Guitar Show This Sunday

November 19, 2013

Poster of Kanata Guitar Show

The first annual Kanata Guitar Show and Gear Sale is set to take place this coming Sunday, November 24th, at the Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata, from 10am to 4pm. At least seventeen vendors will be on hand with guitars and guitar equipment for sale. And yes, Xaver Guitars will be one of those seventeen, with a selection of my guitars to check out.

This kind of event is commonplace in Toronto, but has not occurred in Ottawa for as long as I can remember. So, it is especially important that all guitar enthusiasts in the region support the show, to ensure that it becomes a regular event here. By the way, there is no admission charge. And, if you are a CFL football fan, as I am, the Grey Cup game doesn't start until 6pm. So, lots of time to come to the Guitar Show in the afternoon and return home for the big game in the evening. See you at the show.

Visit Xaver Guitars at Christmas Markets

November 12, 2013

Xaver maple/sitka grand concert guitar with Christmas bow and gift card attached.
This Xaver sitka/maple grand concert is one of several guitars to be available at local Ottawa Christmas markets in the coming weeks.

You know Christmas is just around the corner when Christmas craft markets are announced. This year Xaver Guitars will be at two major Christmas markets. The first one is coming up in just a few days time, the German Christkindlmarkt. This market is arguably the most traditional Christmas market in the Ottawa area. It runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday (November 15-17), at the Ottawa German Club facility in the east end. It is a very popular market with all kinds of crafts and ethnic (German) food. And we'll be there with a selection of guitars for market visitors to check out.

The second Christmas market that Xaver Guitars will be a part of, is the Cumberland Farmers Christmas Market. This market runs Saturday, December 7th in Cumberland Village, just a couple of minutes east of Orleans. Known as Ottawa's "friendly" market, the Cumberland Christmas Market will have a wide selection of crafts, foods, and of course, guitars (Xaver Guitars that is). So, get your 2013 Christmas preparations off to a good start and come visit us at the German Christmas Market this coming weekend or the Cumberland Christmas Market in three weeks time. See you there.

CMA Awards and All Those Gorgeous Guitars

October 31, 2013

Gerry Gruber holding an Xaver guitar.
No, I'm not nominated for any CMA awards. But, Taylor Swift was unavailable for this photo shoot. Picture courtesy of Julie Lan,

Once again, I will be tweeting about the guitars on stage during the 2013 Country Music Association Awards. The show is on Wednesday, November 6th, at 8pm ET, on your local ABC affiliate (i.e., CityTV in Ontario).

The lineup of announced performers includes Taylor Swift, Allison Krauss, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Hunter Hayes, Jason Mraz, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band and Dave Grohl. I'll be contacting all the performers before the show to ask them what guitars they plan to use during their performance, and will be tweeting any and all replies I receive at @XaverGuitars.

So, if you're into guitars (you probably wouldn't be reading this otherwise), follow @XaverGuitars during the CMA awards. You are welcome to chime in during the show and tweet about any guitars you see on stage (I'll miss a few for sure). Just tweet with the hashtags #GuitarWatch and #CMAawards.

Xaver Guitars to Tweet All-Things-Guitar at Upcoming CCMA Awards

September 5, 2013

Epiphone guitar with autographs from 2012 CCMA awards.
This guitar was raffled off to one lucky volunteer at the 2012 Canadian Country Music Awards, held in Saskatoon. See how many of the 18 artists' autographs you can recognize on the guitar.

The 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards will take place this Sunday in Edmonton. As with last year, I will be tweeting (follow @xaverguitars) during the broadcast about the different guitars that are used on stage during the show. There are 19 performers announced by CBC Television, including Gord Bamford, Emerson Drive, and Otawa valley's own Jason Blaine and Kira Isabella. The broadcast is scheduled to be "time-shifted" - that is, the show takes place at 5pm MT (7pm ET), but will not be broadcast until 8pm in each time zone across the country (8:30 in Newfoundland - always wanted to say that). I'll be tweeting during the 8pm ET broadcast, which will be in-sync with anyone watching the broadcast in Ontario and Quebec. If you watch the CCMAs in the MT time zone, my tweets will already be posted. But rest assured, I will not spoil your anticipation of who wins the awards. I will only be posting about the guitars being used in the performances, no tweets about awards.

Jill Gruber, winner of the 2012 CCMA Volunteer guitar raffle (yes, we're related - she's my niece). The guitar, an Epiphone, was autographed by all the performers at the show (including Taylor Swift, who did not perform but made an appearance).

So, if you're into country music and guitars, follow me at @xaverguitars and watch for my tweets Sunday evening beginning at 8pm ET - hash tags: #guitarwatch and #CCMA.

Gord Black of Blacksmith to Play Xaver Dread at East Side Marios

August 31, 2013

Gord and Denis from Blacksmith.
Gord and Denis of Blacksmith to play East Side Marios, Bells Corners, Saturday August 31st from 6-10pm.

Xaver Guitars is teaming up with local music duo Blacksmith this Saturday evening at East Side Marios, Bells Corners. Gord Black will be playing one of my dreadnoughts during the show. I've known Gord for several years, and he has always been very appreciative of my work. He is an excellent guitarist, performer, and guitar instructor, which makes his praise for my guitars that much more noteworthy. The instrument he will be playing is a sitka spruce/East Indian rosewood dreadnought with a venetian cutaway. (Now, if I can just hide that Takamine he's holding, he might have to play my guitar all night...)

So come out to East Side Marios this Saturday, August 31st, and enjoy the music of Blacksmith.

Xaver Guitars Visits Nuremburg Guitar Collection

July 4, 2013

Image of historical guitar from German National Museum.
This guitar was made by Hamburg luthier Joakim Tilke in the 17th century.

A few weeks back I had the privilege of visiting the Germanisches Nationalmuseum (German National Museum) in Nuremburg, Germany. This museum houses one of three major historical guitar collections in Germany. The other two are in Berlin and Leipzig, which I visited during a previous trip to Germany. The guitars that I saw dated back to the 17th century. Unfortunately, unlike historical violins, guitars of this era did not age well. The tension on the necks made all but a very few instruments unplayable over the years. Fortunately we can still enjoy the style and design of these early guitars thanks to the efforts of museums like the Germanisches Nationalmuseum. Well worth a visit if you have a trip to Germany on your horizon.

June 16, 2013

Poster showing details of the Ottawa Guitar Show for Sunday, June 16th.
Make sure to come to the second annual Ottawa Guitar Show Sunday, June 16th, this Fathers Day.

The second annual Ottawa Guitar Show is set for Fathers Day, Sunday, June 16th. So, before you fire up your barbeque on Sunday, drop by Alcorn Music Studios and Gigspace (953 Gladstone) between 11am and 6pm and check out some of the best handbuilt guitars in the region. This year there will be 14 luthiers displaying their instruments, including yours truly.

In addition to our display tables, each luthier will do a short presentation on their guitars/musical instruments. Xaver Guitars' presentation is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. So come out and support your local luthiers and discover the beauty and incredible sound that only a hand-crafted instrument can provide.

Xaver Guitars Back at the Cumberland Farmers Market for Our Fifth Season

June 15, 2013

Gerry talking with visitors to his table at the Market.
We're back at the Cumberland Farmers' Market for our fifth season.

The Cumberland Farmers' Market is open for the 2013 season, Saturday, June 15th, and Xaver Guitars will be there as usual. This is our fifth season at the Market. If you haven't visited the Market yet, drop by any Saturday morning (from 8am to 1pm) and sample some of the best local fresh produce you'll find anywhere in the Ottawa valley. There also are incredibly talented artisans at the Market, who hand-produce jewelry, wood-working items, clothing, etc. The Market also offers a hot breakfast. And on most Saturdays there are 1 or 2 musical acts situated throughout the grounds (both inside the display hall and out) to enhance the experience. So, come out for a delicious breakfast, pick up some fresh produce, and check out my latest guitars. See you at the Market!

Don Ross Demo'ing an Xaver Grand Concert Guitar

May 16, 2013

I would like to offer a big thanks to Don Ross for generously demo'ing my and other luthiers' guitars at the recent Elmira Guitar Show. Don is one of, if not the greatest fingerstylist today. You can check out Don's music and CDs at his website. The guitar he is demo'ing is one of my Grand Concert models. You can read more about this guitar (which incidentally is still available) here. Enjoy.

Elmira Guitar Show - First Class

April 15, 2013

image of hall with display tables and people checking out guitars at the Elmira guitar show
The 2013 version of the Elmira guitar show was a great success, with all kinds of guitars and guitar equipment to check out.

A big thanks to everyone who came out to the Elmira guitar show yesterday, and particularly to those who stopped by our table and checked out my guitars. All of the guitars I had at the show are described in detail on my site. For example, the grand concert that Don Ross demo-ed can be found here.

I would also like to thank Don for coming out to the show, and for gratiously demo-ing guitars. Wow, if you've never heard Don play before, you've got to give him a listen. One of the best fingerstylists in the world, and he's a proud Canadian.

Finally, I would also like to thank John Woods, the show organizer, and his army of helpers, who set up the hall before we arrived, who assisted with load-in, provided tasty food on-site, and simply ran a first-class show all around. I plan to be back next year, and would encourage those of you who've never been to the Elmira show to put it on your calendar for 2014.

Xaver Guitars Coming to a Show Near You

March 27, 2013

image of display table at Sugar Festival
Xaver Guitars display table all set up and waiting for the doors to open at the recently held Maple Sugar Festival.

It won't be long now before we get back into high gear, showing guitars at farmers' markets and guitar shows. In fact, we just finished up a very enjoyable weekend at the Maple Sugar Festival here in Ottawa. Thank-you to everyone who came out and checked out the guitars.

Next up on the list is the 4th annual Elmira Vintage Guitar Show and Swap, to be held on Sunday, April 14th. Elmira is just north of Kitchener/Waterloo, and a relaxing drive from Toronto. So, we hope to see all you guitar aficionados from southern Ontario at this event.

For people in eastern Ontario, mark your calendar for Sunday, June 16th (yes, that's Father's Day), for the 2nd Annual Luthiers' Showcase. A great opportunity to meet some of the best luthiers and their creations, all under one roof. What better way to start off Father's Day. Check back to my website for details as the date approaches.

Finally, as in previous years, Xaver Guitars will be at the Cumberland Farmers' Market every Saturday throughout the summer, starting June 15th, and running through October 12th, from 8am to 1pm, in Cumberland, just a few minutes east of Orleans.

And if none of these dates works for you, drop by my workshop in Orleans. I'll give you a personal tour, show you the builds I am working on at the moment, and you'll have the opportunity to check out my newest guitars in a relaxing environment.

Accomplished Songwriter Terry Fernihough Visits Xaver Guitars

October 29th, 2012

image of Terry Fernihough playing an Xaver guitar
Songwriter Terry Fernihough enjoying an Xaver grand concert guitar.

I had the pleasure recently of hosting Terry Fernihough at my guitar shop. Terry needs no introduction to Canadian country music fans. Not only is he a founding board member of the Country Music Association of Ontario, he has also collaborated with the likes of Sarah Beth Keeley, Rik Reese & Neon Highway, Anne Belliveau, Stephanie McIlroy, Codie Prevost, Kal Hourd, David Joseph, Denni-Lee Hayes, Shirley Albert, Melanie Morgan, Joanne Stacey, and Laura Ranieri in writing chart-climbing country hits. And in the coming weeks, Saskatchewan's own Donny Parenteau will be releasing his latest CD in retail stores across Canada, with a track entitled Sun Showers, co-written by Donny and Terry.

Terry has a flair for witty, engaging, and sometimes tearful lyrics. The Power of Positive Drinking is classic bar-room Nashville, and That Damn Kenny Chesney Song is flat out funny. If you are a country performer and are looking for some fresh and exciting material, or are looking to collaborate with someone in your songwriting efforts, I would highly recommend you get in touch with Terry at

The Twelfth Fret Now Carrying Xaver Guitars

October 12, 2012

The Twelfth Fret storefront
Renowned guitar shop The Twelfth Fret is now carrying Xaver guitars.

I am very happy to announce that The Twelfth Fret is now carrying Xaver Guitars. The Twelfth Fret is an institution in the Toronto music scene, having been repairing and selling guitars for the past 35 years. It's reputation for great instruments and great client service is renowned. Musicians from all over the world make a point to visit The Twelfth Fret when their tour stops in Toronto. So, if you live in the GTA or next time you visit Toronto, drop by The Twelfth Fret, 2132 Danforth Avenue, and ask to see an Xaver guitar.

Jack Stacey Performing Jailbreak with an Xaver Guitar

September 30, 2012

Jack Stacey has quickly evolved from a customer to a close friend. His good nature, broad smile, and encyclopaedic knowledge of all things guitars makes collaborating with him to create a custom Xaver Guitar very enjoyable. (I'm building a mini-jumbo for him, featuring an incredible cedar soundboard and figured walnut sides and back. The guitar is scheduled to be finished near Christmas, and I'll be posting pictures here as soon as it is completed.) Jack is a prolific songwriter, a guitar instructor, and also a very funny man. You can check out all of Jack's videos on his Youtube channel: Jack1946

Here's his latest, entitled, "Jailbreak", during which he is showing off one of my dreadnoughts. Enjoy.

Guitar Watching at the Canadian Country Music Awards

September 10, 2012

The Canadian Country Music Awards were handed out yesterday in Saskatoon (CBC televised the show). It was a great time to listen to some home-grown music and also to admire all the guitars brought on stage by the performers. The big winner of the night, as far as guitar exposure goes, was Gibson. Over half of the lead singers/performers were playing either Gibson JS200s or Hummingbirds. There were a few Martins, and surprisingly just one Taylor (I might have missed one or two guitars) on the night. To round out the evening, as far as steel-string acoustics go, there were also Epiphone (2), McPherson (2), Fender (1), and a Morgan guitar (I checked with Gord Bamford after the show, and he confirmed he was playing a Morgan... they're built in B.C., about 100 a year).

The Ottawa Valley also held its own during the show with Kira Isabella, from right here in Orleans, taking the Rising Star award. And Jason Blaine from Pembroke won Song of the Year. Congratulations to both.

Speaking about local talent, another rising star, Samantha Mouchet is currently in Nashville. She will be blogging about her experiences down there, and you can read all about it on her facebook page:

Till next time. Gerry

Lots of New Guitars to be Available Soon

September 3, 2012

With just five more Saturdays left of the Cumberland Farmers' Market, the summer is quickly coming to an end. September is a great time to come out to the Market and check out my guitars. The weather isn't as hot; there is lots of produce and crafts to peruse, and the breakfast there is quite tasty and inexpensive.

On the guitar-building front, I am in the process of finishing up three guitars: a cedar-topped walnut back-and-sides mini-jumbo, which has recently been sold; another mini-jumbo with a spruce top and padauk sides-and-back, which is still available, and a dreadnought with an englemann spruce top and figured maple sides-and-back, also still available. In addition, just in time for Christmas I will have another grand concert (padauk) and dreadnought (bubinga) ready for those of you looking to add a hand-built guitar to your collection.

To be the first to be informed when these guitars are ready to try out, just sign up for my updates using the subscribe box to the left, or just send me a message/email asking to be added to the updates list. Thanks, Gerry

Xaver Guitars Now on Twitter

August 21st, 2012

If you have perused my website in the last few weeks, you might have noticed tags such as these:

Yes, I have been dragged, scratching and kicking, into the Twittersphere, or the 21st century, by my childrens' assessment. I have had a Facebook presence for several years now, but resisted Twitter, wondering about its effectiveness as a communications medium. The turning point was when my son pointed out to me that many guitarists and guitar lovers use Twitter regularly, and since my work depends on a close collaboration with this community, I have grudgingly relented and am now on Twitter at:

So you now have another option for following my work. And if this option (Twitter) is your preferred medium, I would welcome you to "follow" me, and to "tweet" about any of the guitars here that you think others may like to know about. Many thanks.

Ontario Guitar Show a Great Success

April 30th, 2012

Gerry by his guitars at Elmira guitar show.
Xaver Guitars at the Ontario Guitar Show.

I would like to thank everyone who visited us at our table yesterday at the Ontario Guitar Show. It was great to talk with you, to get your feedback on my guitars, and especially to hear you play my instruments. If this is your first visit to my website, I would invite you to have a look at my completed guitars, available for sale here, as well as how to order a custom guitar here. Redesigned Bridge for Increased Energy Transference

March 21st, 2012

An image of my newly designed bridge.
New bridge on my latest Grand Concert guitar, with bridge pins installed at a 15 degree angle to increase energy transference from the strings to the soundboard.

For my most recently completed guitar - see story immediately below - I've made some significant changes to the bridge. The overall profile (footprint) of the bridge has changed in two ways: the forward edge of the bridge now has a very gentle curve; and the edges of the wings are tilted inward to conform more to the sides of the guitar. The biggest change is that the back of the bridge now slopes away from the saddle at a 15 degree angle. The bridge pins are installed on this sloped surface, thereby enhancing the energy transference from the strings to the soundboard. Also, this design reduces the overall mass of the bridge, while maintaining the appropriate height for the saddle. You are welcome to drop by my workshop and try out this new bridge on my latest guitar, and let me know what you think about it.

Another Grand Concert Guitar Just Completed

March 21st, 2012

I have just completed a new grand concert guitar. It is the first guitar that I have included all three "major" features (i.e., an armrest, a side soundport, and a cutaway) into the same instrument. It also has some attractive bearclaw figure in the soundboard. The back and sides are East Indian rosewood, and the tuners are upgraded to Gotoh 510s. This guitar also features my newly designed bridge. Check out the pictures and specs here.

Guitar Wallpaper for you Computer

March 21st, 2012

I take great pride in the appearance as well as the sound of my guitars. Recently, I designed a wallpaper based on one of my guitars for my computer screen. Then I thought, maybe others might enjoy this wallpaper as well. So, I prepared wallpapers for all three of my most recent grand concert guitars, and am now providing them for download via my website. Check out the wallpaper for my most recent grand concert guitar here. You'll find it just below the main menu on the left side of the screen. I hope you enjoy it.

Toronto Guitar Show Was Great!

March 4th, 2012

I would like to thank everyone who dropped by our table at Toronto's Official Musicians Swap Meet & Guitar Show yesterday. It is always a special privilege to hear accomplished players trying out my instruments. I enjoyed talking guitars with everyone and appreciate the kind words that many of you had to say about my instruments. I look forward to attending future shows where we can renew our acquaintance. And if you find yourself in the Ottawa area, give me a call, and I can give you a tour of my shop here, and of course, show you a few more of my creations. And, in the mean time, if you would like me to give you a price on a particular custom build you are considering, just drop me an e-mail with what you had in mind. Till then.

New Grand Concert Completed

Jan. 16th, 2012

I've just added my latest completed guitar to the website. It is a grand concert, and you can see, hear, and read about it here. Those of you who visited my table at the Cumberland Farmers Market in October or who came out to the Christmas markets will recognize this guitar, as I had it on display then already. But, because a few of the finishing details were not completed at the time, I held off adding it to the website. Those details have been completed, and the guitar is now ready to find a permanent home. Check it out and if you like what you see, give me a call and come by to try it out. If you like beautiful wood, this guitar is a must see. Check out the figured makore back on this instrument. It is absolutely stunning.

Christmas Markets

Dec. 12th, 2011

I would like to thank everyone who came out to the Cumberland Christmas Market and the Heritage School Christmas Market. If you saw something that you like, you are welcome to drop by my workshop and we can set you up with the guitar of your choice for a special Christmas morning. All guitars come with a deluxe hardshell case, a hygrometer and a life-time warranty.

Ottawa Folklore Centre now carrying Xaver Guitars

I am pleased to announce that the Ottawa Folklore Centre has agreed to carry my guitars in their store. As many of you know, the OFC is one of the most prestigious guitar shops in Ottawa. Consequently I am excited to have the opportunity to present my guitars to the OFC community. The OFC is just south of Lansdowne on Bank Street.
